Regularly updated patient access data is available for all VA Medical Centers and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics including average wait times, number of patients waiting for a scheduled appointment and number of patients that cannot be scheduled for an appointment in 90 days or less. At James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital, we have established a number of procedures to help you get an appointment without a long delay. Our goals are simple -
- You should be able to see your primary care provider within one to two business days.
- You should have faster access to specialty care.

Changing Your Appointment
If you cannot keep an existing appointment, contact us as soon as you are aware you cannot make your appointment. This will allow us to reschedule you sooner, as well as schedule one of your fellow veterans for the original appointment date and time.

Outpatient Laboratory Appointment
Outpatient Laboratory has moved to Room 1D-181 in the main hospital, to the right of the main elevators. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 6am to 5pm and Saturday, 7am to 12 noon. To better serve you, laboratory appointments are now available. Please ask your provider to make an appointment for you if labs are needed. Appointments can be made for all laboratory locations including the Main Hospital and the Primary Care Annex (PCA).

*NOTE* The Laboratory has introduced the VetLink Kiosk System to expedite your appointment check-in. Walk-ins are always accommodated, although the wait times may be longer without an appointment. Most lab results are available within 8 hours of collection time. Please make your laboratory appointment in advance of your provider's appointment. Also, we urge you to contact your Primary Care Team by telephone or secure messaging to ensure that your laboratory tests are ordered.
