Congratulations and welcome to the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and Clinics. On the following pages you will find valuable information to make your first few days easier. We are privileged you have decided to help us provide exceptional health care to America’s heroes.
Honor America’s veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being.
On-site parking is limited, we suggest arriving 45 minutes early. Please plan accordingly.
A parking map is available at the link below. During orientation, you may park in a visitor space pending vehicle registration with the VA Police. More information will be provided on Day 1. We recommend parking in the Michael Bilirakis Department of Veterans Affairs Spinal Cord Injury Center (Bldg. 38). If all spaces are filled, additional parking is available on the west side of the University Square Mall. Shuttle buses run regularly. Once you complete New Employee Orientation, you will be required to register your vehicle and park in the employee parking lots.
Days 1 and 2 of orientation will occur in the 2nd floor Auditorium in the Main Hospital.
Day 3 of orientation is held in the Computer Training Room (Bldg. 42), across 131st Avenue.
Visit this page to familiarize yourself with the forms you will be asked to complete on your first day. You do not need to complete any form now, just come prepared to answer them.
Eligible employees have 60 days after entering on duty to make health insurance decisions and 31 days for life insurance benefits. Take a minute to review the available insurance programs. On your first day you will receive additional benefits information and your HR Benefits representative’s contact information.
